We are just hours away from the Public Speaking and Khateeb Workshop coming to ISB on January 10th and 11th with Sh. Abdul Nasir Jangda and Br. Omar Usman from the Qalam Institute.
For many people, Friday is the only religious experience they have all week. Are we upholding the responsibility of the minbar? Are we settling for khutbahs that are below average, and don’t help us become better Muslims? Less than inspiring? Boring? Not applicable to our lives? The problem we face is two-fold. First, we lack qualified khateebs in general. People are often thrust into the position against their will, and sometimes have been giving khutbah for 5-10 years without ever receiving formal training. The second problem is that even an experienced khateeb sometimes is not able to connect properly with the audience. This workshop is Qalam Institute’s effort to bridge those gaps.
Maryam رضي الله عنها, Hajar رضي الله عنها, Khadijah رضي الله عنها, Ayesha رضي الله عنها, these are a few names of some of the greatest motivators, educators, and role models in Islam. This workshop will equip you with the skills to deliver effective halaqahs (classes) and presentations about Islam.
The skill of developing a clear message, and delivering it effectively, is a universal skill that we all need. Brothers, sisters, students, professionals, young, & old alike; we hope that you will join us for this workshop this Friday, January 10th and Saturday, January 11th.
This is the first time such a class will be taking place in the DC/Maryland/Virginia region; this class has typically been only held in Dallas. The Qalam Institute launched this workshop 10 years ago and they have since trained over 1,000 brothers and sisters from all over the world, on the art of speech preparation and public speaking. Their students have gone on to become in-demand khateebs, speak at conferences, deliver presentations to their local communities, and much, much more. We hope to see you all there insha’Allah. Please register now to reserve your seat in this workshop!
