Rules for I'tikaaf
1. Participants must complete and turn in all the registration forms in prior to starting their ‘Itikaaf to the Designated Ameer(s) or ISB Council.
2. A copy of valid driver's license, or a state issued identification card and or passport or green card is needed from anyone who will participate in the ‘Itikaaf program at ISB
3. Unless otherwise agreed upon with the designated Ameer and/or ISB Council, the minimum age for participation is 18. Minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult guardian all the time. If the guardian has to leave the Masjid for any reason, the minor should also leave with them.
4. ISB shall designate a leader (Ameer) and a deputy Leader (Naib Ameer) for the group. These individuals will be responsible and have the authority to enforce the rules as mentioned herein. The Ameer has the authority to arbitrate any dispute between the participants. His arbitrations will be binding.
5. All belongings must be kept in the designated masjid area. ISB shall not be liable for any personal belongings that lost, stolen, and/or damaged.
6. There will be a mandatory quiet time from 12.30 am till 3:30 am for individual Ibadah and sleeping. Participants who don’t sleep should maintain silence. Unless otherwise agreed to with the Ameer/ISB Council, any Halaqa or study session have to be carried out during day time or outside of the Musallah.
7. Lights will be turned off in the sleeping areas at 12:30am. Participants must maintain silence once lights have been turned off.
8. Any group qiyaam activity must be approved by the Ameer or the ISB Council.
9. Those listening to electronic Quran recitation must use personal head phones to not disturb others.
10. Cell Phones must be in silent mode throughout the duration of ‘Itikaaf.
11. Iftaar & Suhoor will be arranged by ISB and local Sponsors. Arrangements will be made to serve the food in the gymnasium. Cleaning will follow after every meal. No storage of leftover food from Iftaar or Suhoor will be allowed in the Musallah.
12. No personal warmers, heaters, cookers, percolators, etc., are allowed on the ISB Premises. There will be no exception to this rule.
13. Everyone will respect other participants, regardless of age etc. and make extra effort to make the ‘Itikaaf a good experience for all.
14. All participants must keep the ‘Itikaaf areas clean including the bath rooms and shower. Personal belongings, including pillows, blankets, sleeping bags, etc.; should be stored neatly against the wall when not in use.
*Failure to comply with these rules and regulations can and will result in a participant being asked to leave the premises; we strongly suggest for all the participants to cooperate with the designated Ameer(s).

I further indemnify and hold Islamic Society of Baltimore harmless from any claims, actions, liabilities or expenses arising out of or in connection with my participation in this program.
